Taken whilst strolling along the old Bathurst Basin canal.  I love that the bicycles are frequently used but locked up against the old lifting gear, which clearly hasn't been used in decades.
This was taken on one of our 'rare' summer's day when temperature were over 30degrees; I spotted someone taking a break in the shade by the canal, possibly waiting for the river taxi -  it just caught my eye.
I couldn't resist this either' I love that this photo is so 'busy' but appears calm on the surface; I can just imagine the ship 'alive' with mariners climbing the ropes and dropping the sails, ready for the high seas.
I can only imagine how hard this busy 'workhorse' and its operator would have been in the day - its now taking a well earned rest in the sun, watching the World go by.
Historic Bristol Wharf contrasted by the contemporary buildings which now overlook the harbour.
